What do you do to celebrate the UK’s first Winter World Cup? Make the world’s first warm flag with The Art of Football, of course.
Frost-proof. Beer-proof. Cold night in stoke proof. Warm Flags were designed to help England’s most dedicated of fans battle the elements this winter World Cup.
The Warm Flag is a celebration of England’s unique fan culture - the unrivalled passion, persistent hope and hardy dedication that is unmatched, even in freezing temperatures.
This was a proactive idea from creative team Tom & Dylan. CD’d by myself and produced internally by Ruth Armitt and Metz ti Bryan
Shot by Aria Shahrokhshahi and the amazing team at Object & Animal, the editorial shoot featured real fans, street-cast by Road Casting.
We wrote an Ode to the Fan (see right) to be embroidered on the inside of the flag but unfortunately it would have cost too much to do.
The Warm Flag itself was designed and brought to life by Molly Sellars and team. It was made using waterproof material and insulated padding to create a flag that’s not only warm, but completely weather-proof.
